The cotton industry was concentrated in Maharashtra and Gujarat because:

1. Raw material- Black soil, ideal for cotton, is present in the region.


2. Transport- Port facilities are easily accessible through land and water transport.


3. Climate- The region’s moist climate and the temperature is ideal for cotton growth.


4. Market- Being a highly populated area, there is a big market to sell the products.


5. Labour- Cheap labour which is essential for production, is readily available.

ANSWER

The city of Bengaluru has recently emerged as one of the leading centres of information technology in the world. It is called the Silicon Valley of India which reflects its position in India high tech global industry. 
The Software technology Park in Bengaluru was started with a handful of companies in the year 1991, it grew to continued. 
A large pool of well qualified and relatively low cost Scientific and technical personnel, proficient in English, represent the ideal work force of Bengaluru which has made it competetitive in global economy.

ANSWER-

A basic industry produces goods that act as raw material for other industries and are not directly consumed or used by people. 
for example Iron and steel industry produces and steel which is used in the manufacturing of machine tools, Thus Iron and steel industry became a basic industry. 
Consumer goods industry is one which produces goods for direct use by consumer. 
For example edible oil, tea, coffee, soap, bread, radio, Tv, etc. 

In my opinion, consumer industries should be given priority as they are involved in foreign exchange and therefore important for the country's development.

What is the importance of manufacturing Industries for a Nation like India? Explain. 
ANSWER-
Manufacturing Industries play an important role in the Development of A Nation. 
Their impotance can be assessed by the following-

Iron and Steel industry is the backbone of modern civilization. It provides industrial basic for the manufacture of many other Industrial Products and thus is known as the basic Industry . Iron ore occurs the abundance in many parts of the world. It is estimated that 65% machine machines and utensils are made of steel. The iron and steel industry rest is widely distributed in the world.
